    Very nice set Adam!

I doubt the ribbon bar is original to the tunic...if original at all. Better photos front and back will reveal all.

    Kind regards

Adam has already stated that the ribbon bar did not come with the tunic...

Thanks for the comments guys. The ribbon bar CAME with the tunic (at least two owners back) but it is almost certainly not the right ribbon bar for this tunic.

I have attached an enlargement of one of the other photos for your reference though. I'll post an image of the back when I have time to photograph it.

To be objective and honest without jokes involved, the images shown are just about enough to say the jacket and the insignia appear original. These things need to be seen in hand and as noted only an idiot would pooh-pooh something from basic illustrations etc. Out of fairness the same applies to a person who would claim to assert everything is 100% original just based on looking at the images supplied.

Most sets like this now are professionally faked or built from stripped tunics now, not all of them, but sadly most. To really tell if one is original, the history of the piece and where it came from- if it can be documented is more reassuring than what we can see with the tunic and insignia etc.

Thanks for the close up of the bar. It does confirm that the bar is most likely not origianl to the tunic. A WWII GL would most likely have had WWI service and had a least an EKII.

I agree, I purchased a bring back set for a General and the GI had brought an Artillery officers visor back with it not knowing the difference, he just wanted a complete set etc.
