I missed this post until now sorry- Fred nailed it- IMO these are real and rare. They are for the RH leather protective over jacket for motorized personnel following the tradition of WWI leather clothing for Kraftfahrtruppe. Neat stuff, probably for Kradmelder and early motorcycle messenger duty for the parent units.

Thank you T.J. Suter and Johnny R. for your opinion. Can you also give me a approximate value of these boards? They do not fit in my collection area so I want to sell them.

          Greetings All,

Here is a picture of the tunic that the boards most likely go to. There are no boards present however. The picture came from "THE GERMAN REICHSWEHR" by Schlicht and Kraus. There are a couple of other period photos but none that really show the boards.

Excellent photo, this is exactly the jacket I believe your straps were intended for. The value is another matter as the demand for Reichsheer items is far less than III Reich. These straps are very rare however, and I am sure there are several eager buyers out there; perhaps an auction may work for you.

I believe in this straps. BUT, there were never special leather boards for the RW "Kraftfahrsonderbekleidung" and the "Lederrock" introduced.
As much as I can remember there's a black leather board with pink chainstitched number and piping in the Museum collection in Ingolstadt or in Raststatt. But these were all private purchased from the wearers (or maybe collected orders from a Kraftfahrkompanie). Normally they should wear their standard M21 board patterns.

              Best regards,
              Andreas

The leather strap that I owned was very much like the one you described; it was pink (leather) piped with a chain stitched number (5, I believe) and was a sew in. I am not totally schooled in Reichsheer uniforms, but I would be very surprised if these straps were not original from the period.

The leather straps are described as being worn with the Kf. "lederrock" and were piped in pink in an Early book on RH uniforms by Schlicht and Krause (1987) on page 132. This suit is patterned after the 1907 leather set which also was worn with leather straps. They probably were made for use with the jacket but were not issued with it etc.
