    I am still wondering aswell if B still finds this theory absurd.
    We await your answer and thoughts on this as you have a lot of experience and knowledge in this field.
    I found the threads on this a major finding and breakthru! (Thanks to the observations and study of member n160!)
    BTW Whats the outcome of your M40 cut? A 2 of 3 fold?

      i have take a look and lining is cut off long time ago,i think it was done becose someone, in fact the original owner or maybe member of hes family, in the past has found out that the lining is bad NO SS and has cut it off,but thanks God original sewn insignia are still on that one ciao

            I have personally handled/examined more than one SS M40 tunic. They were made differently than the Army version. I didn't believe until I saw it for myself!

            And the M42 and M43 are different from the Army verisons, more so than just only 2 belt hook eyelets and 5 buttons down the front: shorter skirt, different cut, etc.

            Does anyone else have photos of an SS M40?

              Here's my SS pattern M40, (with M36 period added collar) already shown in the parrallel SS thread on this topic! Note 2 step liner (as opposed to 3)

                  Clearly SS used based on the sleeve ghost but still considered a 3 step...(just less pronounced)
                  Amazing that such a raggidy POW garment survived!

                    Seen this thread by the helps of friend of mine !

                    Just added this tunic by a young collector in germany !

                    Insignia are added post war for sure !

                    But , looking at the lining what do you say ?

                    Pictures of the wole rest of the tunic after your replys !
