It is shortened and has amongst a huge period repair on the shoulder area, also a nice patched repair underneath the collar as well.
          Stunning and rare example
Is the early eagle original applied?

              Thank you Luca.

Yes, the eagle appears to be period applied (in zig-zag fashion) and is really embedded in the tunic. I don't assume it is factory applied though, i.e. a wartime replacement.

This thread is becomming to be a nice collection in itself! Thank you gents so far for your input

Rather difficult to choose what I will add further, since actually all that I possess is (field) worn...

Will restrict myself to some nice alterations that have a certain charme IMO; like the press snaps on this Uffz. M43 tunic that was field promoted (also note the ink of his pen).

And this one is for Jerry! ..not often to encounter a well worn Polizei M44 tunic. Would still love to see a period picture wearing one.

                      Who's next?!

Very nice field worn tunics Frederic and the others. I prefer this also more then the not worn, straight from the factory/ depot mint examples.

                        Thanks for sharing them

                        Regards

                            Very nice tunics, fellows.

                            To keep this thread running:

This is probably my favourite Offz. tunic I own.

If it was battle worn - who knows.
If it's salty, soiled and well worn - indeed it is.
The awards (except the ribbon bar and the krim-shield) were added by me.
They fit perfectly into the loops and somewhat match the overall condition of the tunic.

I hope you enjoy this beauty.

                            Cheers,
                            Philipp

                              M43 Oberfeldwebel

Here is my contribution. Not exactly battle worn but definately untouched. Infantry Oberfeldwebel with KVK ribbon in the button hole. Skirt was slightly shortened and the depot stamp is E44.
