Its also available by itself. Last few years there have been an increasing amount of auction lots of unfinished insignia. Recieved a bag of uniform scraps that also included loads of unfinished shoulder boards and Waffen Zelt scraps. Included were a few pounds of felt and various colored period scraps. Most surprisingly were a few original sections of piping, Black, Green and Dingy (almost yellow) white. All the piping appeared unused.

It appears to be easier to take it directly from straps and just transplant it in a new board. That way the wear and cut as well and the tuck under the board body is "correct".

The main suspect is associated with working in a State Theater in Germany. With access to people in a costume department I imagine he couple make some pretty convincing stuff. The seller name changes about every 3-4 months.

          My good old friend
I have 6! of his alias names. The first name he sold his fakes was Peter Hassinger, and I believe this could be his real name.

But the boards shown above are not from him. His work becomes always better. I saw some of his early boards were re-sold from collectors. Some of this are very hard to detect between originals. And he didn't only fake boards, he made also a number of armbadges and cufftitles. Very dangerous guy!

That is the guy, there is another thread somewhere on him with board examples. Some of the early stuff coming out and slides were easy to spot but he is getting better.

              Thanks guys!
I now also realise these are fake straps. Well, I have learned something new which is good.

              Cheers and thanks,
              Felix
