Hitler Youth Landjahr insignia. No way it's supposed to be on this jacket like all the other insignia that's been added.

Thanks, I thought it might have been early BW etc.

Thanks, Fred. Are these collar tabs for a Waffenrock?

              Greetings William,

Those collar tabs go on an Artillery Officers waffenrock.

I will go ahead and rip off some insignia and throw the tunic on eBay.com as a bundeswehr jacket.
                ...
William, make sure you mark it as a Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS) not Bundeswehr tunic if you don't want to mislead potential customers ...

OK, can you please explain the basic difference as I don't know much about these tunics.

The biggest difference I would say is that the BGS tunics have the dark green collar (like WH tunics) and are more greenish in color whereas the Bundeswehr dress tunics are light grey and have collars made of the same fabric as the tunic.

BGS is a military/police force that patrols/defended the borders and conducted some special operations with GSG-9, BW is regular German Army. Probably more people collect BGS so it will help get hits on searches.
