I know what you mean....From what I have seen and know of, it was typical for the wearer to apply tresse to existing factory produced straps.

And of course there is the Ultra Atypical case where black insignia/collars were worn on tailored Pz green dress tunics.

How do you feel regarding tresse being applied to shoulder straps at the factory? Do you feel this was done in some cases? Or strictly applied by the wearer or at unit level from basic EM's straps after issue?

If the boards posted are real IMO they are made by a tailor. The buttonholes and stitching I do not ever recall seeing like that. It looks like a basket weave and is very odd. Does not mean it could not be real just unusual.

I have heard a few collectors say the same...I doubt I would ever be able to tell if it was applied at the factory (in some cases) or not.
