teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Nice 6 button, straight pocket flap, RBNr stamped late war M43,
converted to look like an earlier M36 by adding pocket pleats
and a prewar style dark green collar as already mentioned by other contributors!

To simulate an early M36, even pre-war pointed shoulderstraps were used,
which of course came without waffen farbe piping.
No doubt a Spiess with a long service record. Perfect tunic for such rank (with experience)!

Lovely worn original tunic. Best left as found IMO.

                            Nice tunic. You did well.

Although there are some proponents of cleaning tunics, generally doing the least is best. According to conservators at the Smithsonian Institution, giving it only a light vacuuming while protecting the tunic with a screen mesh is advisable. Dirt and dust left trapped in the fibers work like little tiny knives breaking down the fabric every time you handle it. Anything more than that is best left to professional hands.

Thanks to everybody here for the help.

It will be left as-is....OK, maybe the 2 buttons will be replaced with proper ones.
