    Windhund badge assistance

Hi, I found this Windhund badge at a gun shop. I don't know much about them but I did a search and am having a hard time matching it up with any shown originals or fakes. I would appreciate any assistance .

I took photos under several different light conditions so it does look different on the computer. I think the outside shots are the best examples.

I noticed it has a fatter blunt tale than I have seen but looks like a relic one for sale on e-stand.

    The prongs are brass.

    Thanks for your help.

    First ones up artificial light.

Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Lenny, I checked out that thread already but, I'm still not sure one way or the other. I have no working knowledge of this badge. Thanks

                Some info from 'Militaria' Magazine

                Hi Dennis,

The English version of the French 'Militaria' magazine (No 6, July 1994) featured an article on thse 'Windhund' badges. Dimensions of the pair of original badges in the article are stated as 30x21 mm, 1mm thick. The reverse of both badges is painted a very light grey colour, and the pins on both are brass, similar in construction to the badge you show, but slightly narrower. The magazine showed a fake, for comparison, with the following info: 28x20mm, "irregular in thickness", and with no fixing pins at all. The fake had two holes at either end, as if for sewing to a cap, but the magazine stated that this was also done on originals as the 'arms' of the original brass fixing were fragile and did snap off.

                Hope this is useful.
