If it is infantrie then it probably is for someone in Infanterie-Regiment 65. They did not serve in Poland 1939 so you may need to do some digging around. There may be post War unit histories with officer lists etc.

Sorry Kent, similiar name to one recently sold and I mucked things up - pls disregard the (unrelated) tunic I posted. I thought they were the same tunic - my bad.

So it is Transport reserve and if everything is original, in theory he was a Hauptmann before the order to change boards to regular active duty insignia in late 1939. It will be pretty tough to find him without knowing his unit. Good luck.
