Question about Heer M43 HBT Reed Green tunic with early insignia

    Hi,
On pages 68-70 of "German Army Uniforms of World War 2" by Wade Krawczyk there are photos of an M43 pattern Heer Drillich Reed Green tunic, but interestingly it has early insignia - a BEVO breast eagle in mouse grey on dark green backing, as opposed to a field grey backing - would this be likely on a tunic produced at that stage of the war??
    Thanks.

No, the insignia has been replaced, you can see the outline of the old tab and eagle stitching on page 70. Many uniforms in reference books are not in original configurations, they are just used to show the appearence etc.
