Many thanks Mark for backing me up.
Hey you know, they had exactly the same kind of people in WWII, you know the ones that would say anything at all to the Germans so that you could be arrested, isn't it Erwin??

Another WAF thread that continues to deteriorate into personal attacks. If an item is listed on ESTAND, it is the prerogative of members to ask for opinions. Opinions are just that: Opinions. Some will be positive, some will be negative. The whole purpose is so someone can make an informed decision - ultimately it is the responsibility of the collector/buyer.

If you don't like the scrutiny, then please don't list on the Estand or the internal forums. Yes they are opinions and there are self proclaimed experts - but ultimately its only their opinion. Personal attacks don't accomplish anything and are unproductive. Others viewing these threads do not want to comment, because they don't want to participate in the back and forth negative comments. The goal when we solicit opinions on the originality of the item, is to get the maximum feedback from the members on the WAF, get a consensus, and then from that, you the collector make the final decision.

Let's be appreciative when someone takes the time to offer their opinions/help. I personally appreciate it to get second opinions, when making up my mind. Don and Johnny were only offering their thoughts. I don't think either of them claimed to be an expert - they are commenting from their experience on seeing alot of tunics- that's it. The buyer can accept/disregard what they say - its his $ he/she is putting out. I have solicited their input in the past - sometimes they point things out I didn't consider. I review their observations and may agree with them or disagree and then make MY final decision.

When someone is trying to sell something, emotion runs high as the amount of money involved. Let's remember what the purpose is here: to share a hobby and help fellow collectors, and unfortunately, sometimes the answers we solicit are not always what we want to here (i.e. its a fake).

We are adults, lets be civil.

        Thanks for reading.

        Jeff
