Thanks Nick, I don't know how prevalent it is, but I just started noticing on it some obviously original wraps. Here is another photo from Mike Davis showing that both sides of the wrap came from the same bolt of HBT. Any more examples or observations out there?

hello,
every original hbt pz wraps i know, 1st or 2nd model, show this detail of construction.
i don't know if some originals exist without it.
i don't know if some fake hbt wraps already have it nowdays.
for denim pz wraps, i can't say for sure if this observation could be a "rule".
last, you can find this detail too with other hbt items :
green hbt tunic mle 33
hbt tunic mle 42
blue hbt tunic used by pz crews and mechanicals

Excellent photos Derka, I was hoping you would show some from your collection as I knew you had several. Nice shot of the blue HBT tunic. Mike Davis also took the time to photograph 3 original HBT wrappers of his, thanks Mike for your valuable time. I know on an HBT wrap that Glenn McInnes posted also has this feature, and you can just spot it in one photo when he shared the wrap. Thanks everyone!!
Anyone else have an original or fake HBT wrap to share which seam type it has?

Thanks Derka for showing even more examples. I find it rather interesting that the HBT seems to all come from different manufacturers, and almost no two of the end of bolt binding weaves seems to be the same. Hopefully we will continue to see more examples...fakes are welcome too so we can compare.
If anyone has fake wraps, or 4 pocket tunics, or pants that use the edge of the roll somewhere in it's construction, could we see a photo of what the edging looks like on repro HBT? Thanks,
Richard

Grabenkater,
Thanks very much for enlightening me on the proper term. I will use that in all my future posts on the subject...now I may sound like I actually know something...
Here is the latest photo showing the selvedge use in the center seam on a mouse gray wrapper. Thanks again for all the contributions to this thread.

this is only one detail among others, wich are not all shown on the forum.
but at least, it will help everybody for an easy comparizon with a lot of existing fakes, wich is not so bad.

Steve,
I still don't know if this holds true. That's why I was asking people to post photos or tell what they have observed, etc. I have only seen a small fraction of the HBT wraps out there and its been a mixture of about half real and half fake. It just dawned on me that all the originals (In My Opinion) had this feature and none of the fakes I was seeing had it.
I'm sure there are probably original HBT wraps without this feature, and I was hoping to draw some out...and to see if there are any fakes with this feature.
It still seems like every pattern on the selvedge is different so far. I also don't believe they will ever be able to properly duplicate the HBT fabric correctly.
