The cut is not like an early post-war coat.
In the early postwar coat for Polizei or Grenztruppen the last row of buttons is below the pocket flaps.

      For comparison:

Woops... sorry about my comment on the visor hat earlier. I'm glad I said something tho and was able to be corrected otherwise who knows how long I would have been walking around thinking any visor with a perforated sweatband was post war/fake.

Anyway the actual quote that I was thinking of was:

Anytime you see sweatband perforations going around the circumference of the band, it is postwar
I mis-read or mis-recalled the above quote (thinking any perforation was bad when really it is when the band is perforated all the way around --which this one certainly is not). So I take back my comment earlier!

        Thanks!

The featured coat has the right cut and buttons as originals but the color and style are strange for a Heer officers coat, and one that I'm not familiar with. It may be a late war, private purchase Police officers coat, or a private purchase M40 style in a police shade green? I would post pictures of the coat in the police forum just in case.

Though not a good example, and poorly photographed, this is my officers coat. It is a late war, private purchase, coat with a thick, satin lining and combat grade wool body in the post 1942 drab field grey color.

I think the color is fine. None of my tailor-made coats and almost none of my tailor made tunics are the same color. Doeskin wool is seen often in bluish green colors and IMO it is doeskin. This is a little more blue (or the lighting is effecting the image) than is usually seen but appears to be WWII era. I would also suggest that the collar may have been repaired or replaced later in the War.

Looking at the shots it may not be doeskin. It looks more course
