Sorry Paul, I really don't think that it is.
It appears to be very rough for a private purchase Generals. A few other features have me convinced that this isn't what you believe it to be. Firstly the shoulderstraps, they definitely don't look to be for a WW2 General. Are they First World War by any chance?
There also doesn't appear to be any evidence whatsoever of a breast eagle.
Could it possibly be a pre-war drillich tunic? Pre-Third Reich?
Any other opinions on this one?

              Mark

Mark Gibson is right, this don't look like an original DAK or WW2 heer general tunic.
The collar tabs don't look like anything I have ever seen in use by Heer generals, not even the custom ones that some times appear in general tunics, the shoulder boards also dont look "right" in size and construction, it appear that theres no red backing on them....the bullion or material the tabs and shoulder board are made of is extreamly thick.

This is my personal opinion of course and theres more advance collectors here that can verified this tunic and it composition BUT my opinion is...Not good for the above details among others.

Hi Paul, I must agree with all the points already raised by Mark and Federico.

                  Cheers, Ade.

                    Tabs and Boards

I agree with the other guys, though I don't know much about DAK tunics I do know the tabs and boards are not even close to what one would expect to be original. Alex

I suspect that this may be a 1960's-1970's movie or TV prop.

I agree and am not even sure the base tunic is German with collar insignia mounts set-up like that with reinforced holes.

In addition to the above comments,

And why doesn't it have any loops for medals / ribbon bars?

The guy is a general afterall...

Don't like the collar-tabs or shoulderboards either.

I agree with the others. I do not like the tabs, the boards, the lack of evidence of an eagle, and the lacks of loops.
