I owned this uniform tunic many many years( 25 ) ago, When I first acquired it the tunic was an unissued piece without any insignia. I traded it away and it came back in my possession decorated with some original SD insignia including NCO shoulder boards a SD Raute and blank cufftitle. It also had a fake bevo big foot SS Officer eagle attached. I have since stripped the tunic down except for the boards.
Can any one help me identifying the tunic. Is it post war, other organization or just a early repro. It is a well made tunic . It has Assman buttons. It has a full lining of a solid grey artificial silk with white and black striped sleeve linings . It also has a bandage pocket. It has provisions for belt hooks with 4 hole ramp straps. The exterior only has one hole for the hook. The wool is of decent quality. Upper pleated pockets quite high on the chest. Lower slash hidden pockets. The green collar is soft and floppy with zig zig reenforcing patter. It never had collar hooks. I am posting about 10 photos. The pictures were taken indoors with a flash and give it an odd look on some of the pics. In some of the photos it has a blue green tint, but is not. It has no markings or tags. I think it had a paper tag sewn on at one time with numbers , but I don't really recall for sure. It also has one inside breast pocket lined in white.
I am hoping Nick G will comments on this tunic . I know he has a good eye for this stuff and is a student of tunics
through period photography. Nick I think you enjoy oddball items.
