Kriegsmarine Cutoff

I bought this nice Kriegsmarine Cutoff on E-Stand.

It shows a part of an white Jumper for Kriegsmarine Sailors .....the rank is:

-> Matrosenobergefreiter (Star Patch with Chevron).
-> Sonderausbildung "Torpedowaffenleitvormann"

Reminds me of the stuff seen in the 50s and 60s.
Most of my family and friends' family were vets.
Many had just the odd bit or two.

Some of these pieces have gruesome origins, but that's part of history.

Warriors taking bits from fallen or defeated enemies as trophies.
Much cooler than scalps, skulls and bones.

My uncle, a Seabee, on Guadalcanal reported a japanese sleeve with arm inside landing on his tent after an aerial fight. He didn't keep it.

Good question. For me that is all I collect. It does seem like most of the cut collar tabs and eagles I have encountered are Luftwaffe.
