A Few More
Great photos! Find a few more on this excellent site.

BTW existing stocks of these wrappers were issued mid-war to two StuG units sent to Finland.

Michael

There was one of these posted here a few years ago amongst a bunch of other uniforms from a collection in Italy...No detail photos were shown, just distant photos but it looked believable in the few photos, early M36 uniform type cloth, dark green collar.

He could have kept this wrapper as a dressing uniform but I guess they weren't allowed to "go home one last time to pick personal items and extra uniforms" befroe being brought to the US

What I learned from this thread is that this type of tunic with dark (green?) collar was used over a long period of time in small numbers additional to the common types of tunics. The pics with the early type of protection cap could be 1940 and pre 1940, the pic of #18 shows a StuG model “G” not before 1943. You can see this tunic with fighting units and with members of A.L.R. and A.L.R. (mot) 2 (see shoulder board wit L and L 2). A.L.R. (mot) 2 was not before summer 1941. Based on the existing pics the standard uniform for 7./A.L.R. (1937/38) and VI./A.L.R. (1939) was the black tank uniform but collar tabs without skull.
