I have these two slip-on boards...are these early or possibly eastern volunteer boards or..... All I know is, they don't glow...the pointed ends say early, the exposed undersides say late war, and the piping says pioneer?

The KM didn't employ branch color or waffenfabre to their shoulderstraps. They had embroidered or metal devices for trades, IE. winged shell, crossed anchors, and cogged wheels etc. I thought these might have been a pair of coastal boards prior to being embroidered and the black tape applied since they were single layer wool straps

After the War a lot of the Foreign legions went into Fast Food. These actually are from the circa 1947 Lamb Kabob franchise that was opened in former Turkistan. Snappy waiter uniforms were made from existing stocks of Field grey clothing.
Seriously I would guess the are, or were constructed to look like, something related to Eastern Vols.
I have never seen "M44" KM boards with waffenfarbe but a lot of people have better knowledge on that than I do.
