Fake

Fake to Herr Helmut just means it is not WWII issue etc.

I still think it is a real badge, not meaning WWII issue for military etc. but something constructed for other use, meaning commercial sale during the War or something like that. It is very well made and looks to be older ie. at least pre-1970s.

The Gebirgs veteran groups were very active after the War, and still are. They had lots of insignia which included variations sleeve badges etc.

I imagine they did make more than one of these, others will surface or be seen, you will figure it out.

Mailed pictures of it to Weitze and he told me it was most likely a fake, nothing more, not why. Maybe it is a fake, but they have put in some good work in it.
