        Hi Tommy and Gene,

The blouse is original and the eagle is sewn.....

John's right. The arm pit seam is a little odd. You usually see one below the arm pit extending down, one from the hip pocket upwards, and a short one at the waist line.

              Hi Sarge and John,

No, the arm seams are standard construction. It is difficult to tell from the first photo and I apologize for that.

              Best,
              John

                  Ok John, I give up.......

Does it have something to do with the manner in which the NCO tress is sewn through the collar tabs on two sides?

That's it Willi, atypical construction. In most cases the tresse is butted against the tab, in some cases the tresse doesn't even touch the tab. On this blouse it's sewn over the edge of the tab covering part of it.

Well, I thought it was interesting and unusual...

Nice Flieger BTW John. That is exactly how I like to see them.....textbook, with everything factory sewn. You are right........tress is not normally sewn to the tabs.

                        Thanks Willi,

Three sets of original loops and not a single moth nip!

Geeez, you were up late! Better pay some attention to S.!

Hey John, I can pay attention to S., watch Fox News and type all at the same time.... Am I skilled or what????

What is the date on that Flieger? The only super nice textbook NCO Flieger that I have is dated '43 and has that later subdued NCO tress.

No way Willi, when women want attention it has to be 100%

This blouse is dated 43 also.

Here is a period photo from Eric's superb book that illustrates the exact same style of sewing the tresse over the tab.

Eric, if you are 'out there', thanks again for a fantastic reference!

                              Best,
