I just stumbled across this thread. Fantastic quality, and I finally learned the backstory on the T&S hoard. Any update on who has the catalogs, and whether or not they will be reprinted?

Even as late as the 80s stuff like this would turn up at shows in Europe from factory storage etc. There was a dealer in Dortmund that had boxes and boxes of unused insignia from factories. In the 60s and 70s he put ads in newspapers and wrote letters to firms asking to buy left over materials.

Catalogs

The "catalogs" are still in the posession of a Hamburg dealer. The "catalogs" are really T&S' reference 'muster' catalogs featuring a colored pencil drawing of each insignia they produced. As I can recall, there are 7-10 volumes in the set.

Browsing a new book about the Legion Condor, I found depicted this sample No.6431 of a Thiele & Steiner Spanish Observer's wings

...and what really made my day was to discover that the wings originally sewn in a LC vet tunic I have, is the very same, a Thiele & Steinert wings.
