    Denim Panzer Wrap for Opinion

    Hi folks,

Heres another wrap in my collection I would like to get comments on.

First a little background. I bought this from Weitze about a dozen or more years ago. It came out of one of the many clothing recycle centers in germany. This one might have been Red Cross. There was no insignia on it, but you could clearly see where a breast eagle was present at one time. Unfortunately a friend sewed on a new eagle and obliterated that feature.

As you'll see it was heavily modified-shortened, tightened up -to fit close to the body.

I believe its okay even though I have never handled an original in this material. So I have no reference from which to make a judgement. In fact none of my collector friends have seen one like it either. Now George Peterson did check it out for me and said its original and extremely rare(in this material). There have been a number of similar ones on the collectors market during the last 3-5 years. I have yet to see one I believe is good.

The material is what I call cotten Duck. The color on this one is a Grey Green.

So my question to the forum members:
    1. Is it original.
2.If original are there period pictures of such modifications being made.

Once question 1 is answered I can throw out my own theories on the modifications.

    WR Jim

There are a number of pictures.

This first one was taken when I first got it.No insignia, unfortunately you can't see that an eagle was once present.
