Hi Jim,
Thanks for taking the trouble to post the stills, should be here in
the UK soon, so a must for the collection.
' A time to live a time to die ' Gawd, it must be 20yrs since I last saw that,
usually we get constant showings of Where Eagles dare, Great escape,
Tobruk etc..
I can only remember bits, seem to remember it showed the ordinary German
soldier is a sensitive light, or at least for that period of production.
Was rock hudson in it?
At the end he lets a young sniper go, but he picks up the gun and shoots
RH in the back.
Did it ever make it to VHS or DVD?
CHEERS,
John.

Actually the title is "A Time to Love and a Time to Die"(my mistake). As Jaime stated John Gavin played the lead role in it. The movie opens up with his squad on the Eastern Front (great uniform shots). The real story begins after hes sent to Germany on leave. There he discovers love and begins to doubt the war.Pretty solid movie, I think it was nominated for 2 Oscars. I don't think its available on any format now.Used to be on VHS. WR Jim

I think Richard Basehard was in "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" - close but no cigar... Lloyd Bridges was in "Sea Hunt" - managed to break every rule in the book of Scuba diving in that program...

I recommend this for all the collectors here!

Thanks for the correction; guess I am just as bad with movies as I am with militaria.
