He finally got tired of it and was going to sell the store. I got a lot of his stuff.
Among it was an unissued M36 EM Tunic. It had a yellow cardboard tag stitched inside with size, etc.
It had an eagle and tabs on the dark green color. No boards, but buttons and loops for them.

I believe it is quite relevant as others have offered comments on variants and anomalies.
Reason I offered it.
My experience over 60 odd years of collecting or accumulating, is that collectors and interested parties profit mutually from anecdotal references and instances.
The tunic is long gone. I got rid of most of what I had when I left the army. I like to follow the state of the hobby and where it has gone.
Most all of the stuff we got back in the old days was from the hands of the vets.
They sadly, are nearly gone.

The picture posted is a nice one. It could be the soldier’s ‘walking out dress’ jacket having the numerals (which would have been applied at the time of manufacture for this date wraparound) removed from the shoulder straps, would be my guess. Lack of skulls might imply his other than panzer affiliation.

Yes, in the 1970s I found bring back several tunics that had the paper tag on the skirt. No collar tabs but only the eagle and the general no branch tabs.

As Mr Singer mentioned, based on period photos it is quite common to see early Heer issue black wraps being worn without Totenkopfen by personnel crewing StuGs, self propelled Artillerie, etc. but not actual Panzers per se.

Agree. I would say it was theater/field applied when issued to this Sturmartillerie Oberwachtmeister.
