I see from your site, Berghof, that you have handled quit a few quality toppers and eagles.

WAF is a great learning experience and has helped me in my collecting endeavors considerably.

Now we wait for that smoking gun...

    Thank you,
    Doug (Stiles)

        Hello everyone
This pole top eagle was presented yesterday to Kassel WBK
ALL the people who studied it have certified this pole top as authentic from the 1930s
NO one negative opinion. Thank's for looking.
        Best Regards. Jeff

          In addition
          Failing to have beautiful details
          Because of his condition
It presents several same defects of production, that a pole top authenticated as original

I totally agree with you about the Loch Ness look...there are examples that do have that look. I try to think of the craftsmen in that time period. People back then were so hands on and had such a high degree of talent...to a whole different level than we're used to in today's times. That's what they did all day long every day.

I'm chuckling here thinking of this scenario... imagining the craftsmen who created that eagle we're discussing, bringing that achievement back to his boss, with pride, saying look at this masterpiece! I know everything wasn't perfect...but geeze louise!

The elongated neck isn't as bad as the unexplained washed out detail where the wings meet the body. It just doesn't make sense to me how that could pass quality control of that time regardless of pre RZM. That error/mess was carried out to the master mold where they supposedly massed produced these. I don't know of any known authentic piece that has the same degree imperfections.

Anyway, I hope to see some period pictures or something else. I don't mind being wrong...it wouldn't be the first time and it certainly won't be the last (ask my wife).

            Cheers, Mike

I like this example....which I believe mrec27777 provided pictures of years ago. There are similarities, but there are some big differences...one being an elevated perch off of the wreath. It appears to have a thicker/proper proportioned neck.

                  Hello everyone
We compare comparable things please, as already said,
I presented it to Kassel, no bad criticism, in addition my item has the same flaws as Alfred's item.

In view of number of bad comments from different members on this Forum or on others forums, for this eagle, I will let the members be the only judge.
                    I will not comment.
But, I thank everyone for the study work on this post. Very interesting.

It seems that the last comments are from the seller. It's normal for him to come and defend his stuffs.
On the other hand, why, in Kassel if all the biggest sellers found it good, did they not take it at such a low price, for a part like this one? There were even auction houses...
                    This question will remain unanswered.
                    -
And this eagle will remain mysterious.

                    Thank you again.
                    And beautiful day.
