Hussar TK Skull Guidon Pennant WWI or WWII

I picked this up a few weeks back. The guy said it came out of a vets estate with some TR police items. Is this a WWI or WWII piece?

    Thanks, Cliff

Ditto, a modern made fake. Pennant material,
construction is wrong - missing lancer eyelets
for pole mounting, & instead it has tie cords.
Header markings are totally bogus - known fake.

                Hello Jay:
Nice to know the repro Lance pennant source.
I picked up a German lance for $10 when our local
war surplus store sold out years ago. I had been
going in there since I was a kid - the good old days.

                  previously on the WAF ...

Another like example posted in 2009
on the WAF in thread t=341222. Same
fake design cords and bogus markings.

                    the "real" thing ...

From the IWM here is what the "real"
thing looks like. Note hand sewn pole
                    eyelets, and correct header markings.
                    OFW
(below) As cited ... "2nd Death’s Head Hussars Pennant.
Swallow tail cream wool pennant with black applique wool
skull and X bones. Pole sleeve: 4 x small holes finished
with buttonhole stitches and 6 x dfferent rubber stamps /
IWM Catalogue number: FLA 426, Dimensions: Length 674 mm,
                    Width 348 mm."
                    History:
"From 1889 all cavalry units of the Imperial German Army
carried lances and each was fitted with a pennant, the
colours indicating the state from which the regiment was
recruited. The two regiments of “Death’s Head Hussars”
were however the exception, having a skull and crossbones
                    (Totenkopf) design. That of 1 Leib-Husaren-Regiment Nr.1
adopted a white Totenkopf on black, whilst 2 Leib-Husaren-
Regiment “Königen Viktoria von Preussen” Nr.2 featured
reversed colours, black on white. On active service the
pennant was conventionally rolled around the shaft of the
lance. This lance pennant was picked up on the Battlefield
of The Marne in 1914 where both of the above regiments saw
                    action."

Just wondering, did the Hussars use a pennant in WWII. Very nice example shown here but isn't it WWI vintage?

Yes, post #10, IWM "real" Hussar example is from WW1.
This was a WW1 Lancer pennant design, not used in WW2.

Thank you. My question is, was there a design used in WWII and does anybody have pics of one? The Hussars did exist in WWII, didn't they? If so, did they use their old WWI pennants? I don't know, I'm just asking...I've always been a headgear collector and have seen plenty of TR era visors with Hussar TKs on them...
