    LAH Erwache Standard...banner shape?

Hello! Looking for info on the LAH Deutschland Erwache Standard(s). I've seen these with the square Erwache flag (like the Regimental one with the eagles), but never with the rectangular flags.

Obviously, Erwache Standard flags came in both square and rectangular, but did the LAH ever use the rectangular one, for use with the Adolf Hitler title box? thanks

    Hello Jawohl:
The original 1933 Munich made LAH DE banner was
replaced in 1940, by the Berlin made AH flag like
version with four straight winged corner eagles.

Actually the 1933 LAH DE banner was the third
DE design, and the majority of the DE's issued.
        Per WAF thread t=548091 ...
"First [DE] series 1923: 4 fully embroidered roundel.
Second series 1926: 8 partially embroidered roundel."

Third series 1927: solid material center roundel, which
included the 1933 "first pattern" LAH DE of the 3rd DE
design series. 1940 LAH "2nd pattern" had the 4 eagles.

        Hello DrD:
I'm not a gorget collector, but assume you are talking
about the WAF thread t=363822 "...existence" of the
mystery LSSAH gorget that no one has ever seen outside
of fuzzy pictures. ...mysterious LSSAH gorget ...from the
Deeter/Odegard book ...is a murky shot of the standard
bearer with the gorget hidden behind the standard carrying
strap..." ...The drawing in Deeter/Odegard is an artist's
conception of the gorget, ...featuring the LSSAH monogram
executed on an oval shield surmounting the wreath and flags."

(below) Now classic Dick Deeter Gorget book. Dick told me he traded
a ~4'x4' 3rd Reich white Infantry flag to BR in Santa Monica for the
suit of armor for use on his Gorget book cover. An expensive cover.

          Gorget

OFW I'm talking about the picture in post #2.It's right above my first comment oin this thread. It cleary shows (not that clearly) a SS 1938 Gorget and not the one in the Gorget book that you show. I think it's obvious. By the way I think an original suit of armor is worth quite a bit more than in Infantry standarte. He made a good trade.

Thanks Oldflags. The pic you posted is obviously the square 1933 pattern DE LAH standard, what I'm keen to find out is did the LAH ever use the rectangular DE banner (pic) at any point, before they changed to the 4eagle one in 1940? Thanks

My post #2 shown AH box LAH 1933 DE banner
is indeed a "rectangular DE banner (pic)".

Wow. You're right! Your imaging work (much appreciated) shows that they're the same. Thanks, OFW!

Wonder how I got to thinking that the usual LAH DE banner was square...all the other pics of it I've seen showed a square one--your pic is the first I've seen with it oblong. Have I been seeing things, or do the square LAH DE banners also exist?
