    Pole Tops for Review

Hi all I picked up these two pole tops today. I am assuming they are both NSDAP. The one witht he swastica is aluminum and is complete. I had one like it before but it was nickle and much heavier. So I am posting this to so if its authentic. Now the denazified pole top has me perplexed. Its made of brass, and is great quality. Unfortunately its denazified and I am not sure what it is?(NSDAP?)

Both appear to be 1st Pattern NSDAP flag pole tops.
Do I assume that the brass base
    has metric threads?

Hi OFW, yes it does. I was able to screw the bolt from the other one into it. Its a shame its been denazified though. Also is there any thing significant about brass pole tops(e.g. special use)?

I believe all were brass, and the silver color of
some is just surface plating. I could be wrong.

          pole tops

Hi the silver one is a fake made by reddick ent. If you look at it it is poorly cast has a lot of flaws . The detail on the brass one looks to be better than the silver one amd might be original .

First off, you think that the silver one is a fake. I disagree, especially after looking at his site. There are quite a few differences. First off his look brand new and lack the patina which min has. Also the shipping weight of his is 2.5 pounds. My pole top weighs 10.1 ounces... Also could you point some of the flaws your talkign about?
            Thanks

              Reddick's site is

Heres the pic of his. Also look at the Beaks! They are clearly different.

Still looks a lot different to me. Especially the beak and the attachment of the swastica. Also what does your example weigh?

                        Pole top

I will get some better pictures useing the daylight and post them . I studied the one i have and i could be wrong but for $500.00 i would want to know for sure. Maybe someone here has a original to compair the casting marks on them . Look at he bulbing in the center of the feathers on the front side between the legs i dont think that would pass inspection but i could be wrong. Will post new pictures in the am.

more about 1st pattern NSDAP eagle tops ???

Interesting discussion. It has always been hard to
sort out real from fakes on these 1st pattern tops.
And as the fakes get better, that leaves the marginal
detail "real" examples by the way side, and to be sure
only the really crisp detail examples left as desirable.

Originals are nickel-plated brass. The swastika is painted in high-gloss black.

Here is a link to an original http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=273564

I don't like the 1st example in this thread. The feathers are very fuzzy. The attachment lug is too long. Among other things.

                              hi
I go back to you on this subject that I had had no response even though my opinion was already done
I possess the right one for gold and see nothing at all of those details that can cross in silver
I also think that yours is a fake
