    Poletop

    Hello all,
I just acquired this poletop and would like to get a little information about it if possible. I don't usually collect these items so any help or info is appreciated. I have included a link to it(I know people don't like links,it's time for me to get a membership for sure.). It is made of brass, about 8 inches wide by 8 inches high and weighs about 20 ounces. Am I correct in that this is a first type political eagle? According to another post these are usually brass correct? Any comments regarding it or other info that can be supplied is appreciated. My apologies to moderators, I did not realize a picture would show up.
    Thanks

    Reproduction SS Flag Pole tops

Hallo, Does any one know of a source for the SS eagle flag pole tops for the early Reiter rgts etc? These are not the flat ones with an eagle ,but a more realistic looking bird as on the Deutschland Erwache banners.
Also looking for source for the red , white and black cords and tassels and poles.
    Any help appreciated, danke,Norbert

      Hello Bill:
Yes, looks like a 1st pattern NSDAP Leadership corner patch
flag pole top, but can't make out from the photo as to if it
      has a metric threaded base?

        Hello,
Old Flags there is no threading on the bottom at all. It looks like a solid post. don't know if there was something else attached to it with threading or what. Thanks for your help. I believe you can click on the picture for enlargement.

          <CENTER>Bill:
No threading on the bottom IMO makes the top suspect.
A threaded base is necessary to mate the eagle/wreath
section to the pole adaptor base tube.

Duzig, I know you asked about this poletop before you bought it off the e-stand. With these new pics, I'm not sure I like it.

What is this made of? It is supposed to be nickle-plated brass. This doesn't look like either. There are unusual marks around the eagle's head and what appear to be casting pitting.

The bottom connector is supposed to be a threaded female connector. This one looks oversized, rather crude, and does not have the lip around the bottom. Compare it to the poletops in previous threads.

                This is a genuine example.

Notice the leg feathering is more subtle as well.

                  Hello Curt,
Thanks for the information on the poletop. I would say that this item is definately made of brass but there is no plating nickel or anything else on it. As I mentioned I don't usually collect these items so I guess this is an example of what happens when one acquires something outside of their knowledge base. I thank you again for your help and information.
