as to just what a DE is worth these days? Either togeather or in parts?

$20K banner ? (2nd pattern)
$15K box ? (hardest part?)
$10K top ? (eagle on wreath, long or short leg)
$ 5K poles (3 pieces, which includes banner cross bar)
$ 2K tassels ? (2 pieces)
$ 5K cover bag ? (RZM marked)

Hello Ibrahim:
No I don't have the actual physical form of the Thuringen DE postcard,
but thought I'd share my digital file version here as it looks pretty cool
and does illustrate how well the DE eagle and banner look togeather. It is also interesting, at least to me, to see that the left tassel cord is shown moved away from the banner cross pole acorn end so the tassel does not obscure the banner edge fringe - Hooray for Nazi-wood! I do have in my collection another related banner graphic, an early 1930's period original DE like standard crossword puzzle (see below), which contains a Roehm entry which likely means that not many copies of this example graphic still exist today, or for that matter much beyond the 30 June 1934 Roehm purge. The design of this puzzle standard may have been based on a boxless prototype of the DE standard, but then again it could also be just some 3rd Reich political correctness where the official design of the NSDAP DE banner was so sacred that doing a puzzle on the exact design would have been frowned upon, as the lack of PC-ness back then could mean the concentration lager!

I just bought my box and poll-top back (along with an extra DE flag I had sold) and I am happy to say that I now have the mint set (that started this thread assembled with the box and poll top. I bought one of the Bender polls (cost me $1200) and had it refinished. So, with the exception of the vertical poll, I've now got a complete set (flag, tassels, cross-poll, box and top). I get a lot of merchandise in on a weekly basis, but this is one that I am REALLY enjoying.

Also, did some research on Mährisch Ostrau (now called Moravská Ostrava). It was an industrial center in what is now the Czech Republic. During the Nazi occupation, it was in the protectorate of Moravia, and was not only an industrial and mining center, but was also a crossroads for Jewish and Gypsy camp transports.

Very nice, how about more on prices for same? Whole
standard, and the various piece parts separately? Just
curious about what the current market brings for a DE
standard? I passed on a pair of DE cord/tassels some
years ago for $1000, as I only needed one, but have
regretted doing so ever since!

I had the oportunity of handling one of these D.E. sets, it was compleat and the asking price was in the high $90,000. For me this is one of the ultimate Third Reich era collectibles and one of the rarest, to have a compleat original set(matching or reasembled) is a feast in itself!!

The flag alone is one of the most atractive in the "political flags" area of collecting, they are not as fancy or show the amazing workmanship of the armforces regimental flags, but have it's own beauty in it's desing,construction and form.

Just to follow up on the earlier comment, The display in San Diego some years back had a large selection of 'capture' flag standards in front of a wall-sized blown image of the same flags at the Moscow march. I still remember that very well... from behind sturdy glass.

I believe it may have been the only location in the US for the exhibition?

Beautiful standarte Craig. I hope you don't mind me sharing this postcard as Ibrahim asked about an original. I picked this card up on ebay many years back and love it for it's graphic composition.
