    Still Out There: Latest DE

This one just came out of the woodwork, purchased directly by me from the daughter and son-in-law of the guy who brought it back.

Unbelievable! They don't happen to have the rest of it in the garage, do they?
Great set, especially the pole and cords/tassels--very tough to find as well!

IMO The DE are quite plain looking and overpriced without all the additional hardware that go along with them. Whats the big difference.

Only a few hundred DE banners were made between 1922-1939.
I have in my own collection the only known surviving example of
one of the first four DE's presented in 1923. I believe no DE's were actually made during the WW2 period (1939-1945), as was
the case for German Army unit flags too. Also not aware of any DE banners taken to Russia, other than the 1945 Berlin captured 2nd pattern LSAH now in the Moscow museum - saw this one while it visited San Diego some years ago in the "WW2 thru Russian Eyes" Balboa Park exhibit (see below). What you see in what you call the "walk over" Nazi standards 1945 Moscow Victory Parade footage, are around 500 mostly German Army unit flags (both Imperial and 3rd Reich) taken from the Berlin Zeughaus Army Museum, plus some German veterans flags, a couple of lower level NSDAP organizational (DJ, NSBO, DAF) corner patch flags, but NO DE's are shown.
