The flag is anyway not according to regulations as the leather edge is not included (see 1 for Ledereinfassung).

Here is the official regulation 13/38 from November 28, 1938 from the Oberste SA-Führung.
It was once more published while most of the flags were not according to standards as officially allowed.

Thank you Sir. There are some of us who do greatly appreciate the information you provide.

The Reiter Sturmfahne was used earlier than 1938--in 'Die Uniformen und Abzeichen der SA, SS, HJ' etc. published by Traditions-Verlag Kolk & Co prior to 1935 (undated but illustrates Röhm's collar tabs for 'Chef des Stabes'), the 'Reiter Sturmfahne' is also illustrated.

        See post 19, where I say 1934.
A much better description one can find in "Die Uniformen der Braunhemden" by Freiherr von Eelking from 1934,
page 89 where an image of an early Reiter-flag is included. The leather is not yet included there.
In the "Dienstvorschrift für die SA der NSDAP" from 1932 this kind of flag is not included yet.

I think the flag came in 1933 as it is included at the plate "Uniformtafel der SA und SS". In September 1933
the use of the gorget was not mentioned for Reiter-SA.

Oops! I read the post but stopped at 1938. I didn't look at my Eelking but had the 'Traditions-Verlag' book on my desk so it was the closest reference at hand.

can happen Erich. The Kolk must be from about 1933, due to what is shown from the Stahlhelm-organization. In July 1934 they had another official uniform.
