MP40 is it real?

Hi all,

My first posting on the firearms forum, a day for firsts!!

I bought this deact MP40 many years ago, to display, but it got stored away,and forgotten about.

A little older and wiser I realise that there are many put together firearms sold to the unsuspecting public.

Please could you give me your opinions on this MP40, and if possible, its worth £/$

Looks fine to me,I don't see any problems

Numbers don't match but apart from that nothing wrong with it. As for value the photos would need to be clearer, also depends on whether it's new or old spec. New spec ones were going for up to £900 and old spec up to £2000 (with matching numbers). There must also be a De-Act certificate for it.

It's an old spec (strips down yes?) and has a deact certificate. Is £2000.00 a typing error?

No £2000 is not a typing error, I sold my old spec all matching number about a year ago for that. The fact that your No's are not matching will make a difference but it's still worth a lot of money.

Must be a nice feeling digging this one out of storage and finding out how much it's worth in today's market!
