P38 AC41 reblued. What would you do?

Recently acquired from A Vet's son is the Walther AC41 & holster. All matched non-import. The son had it reblued years ago
The price was right ($450) so I went for it. Don't know whether to leave it as is or to remove the blue with vinegar which won't harm the markings. Then it's just bare meatal that will eventually age. Your thoughts?

While you can remove the re-blue you can't put back the metal removed from the buffing. It is what it is now, and probably better off leaving it as it is. A proper restoration would cost more than the pistol would be worth when finished.

It could have been worse, as more than a few were nickel plated.

Yes Johnny nickel plated is worse. I might just keep it as a Shooter and next to the nightstand just in case

I have one that is bare metal and it still looks great! Either way I think it would look fine

Leave it as it is. It'll never be anything more than a shooter now.

It needs a lanyard loop. Anyone know where to get one?

Leave it as it is. It will be a great historical shooter, and when you take it to the range 99% of the people there will have no idea that it has been refinished...BILL

Thanks Bill, I'm sure you are right so I will leave it as is and be happy with I've got.

Leave it alone. It is a nice looking shooter now that you got for a good price.
                        Looking for a 30 '06 Chauchat magazine.

I agree to leave it as it is. Nothing you can do about it now. It is what it is.

Let's see some photos of that holster now!!!

I would leave it as is and carry it as my personal weapon but do get a new holster and put the original one up.
