I just heard that pioneer researcher and writer on P38s, Warren Buxton was killed in an auto wreck on the way back from the Tulsa show. Warren got P38 collecting really rolling back in the day. Warren, along with expert WWII gun luminaries like Bob Wittington, Charley Kenyon and Jan Still, was greatly responsible for the formation of our collecting community and the hobby as we know it today.
Warren was a kind, polite and generous soul - always a gentleman and ever the student, despite his master guru status. He was always a welcome traveler at my table at the SOS, stopping by the visit on P38s and to sit and rest a minute.
I'm sure we will all miss him, and I'm sure there is more info on other forums so please feel free to post some links.
