Hi- new to the forum but thought I'd chime in on the DS MG34. I am assuming this is a pre-May "keeper". I just sold a similar DOT 1945 for $9,000 so I think Matt's estimate is way low.

If the gun is ALL matching (including bolt & barrel) people would consider this to be a plus (even on a sample). An original tripod with optics would add ~$2,000.

    My .02 - great forum.

In Belgium you will be able to buy a MG 42 , MG 34, MP 44, MP 40 in mint condition and sometimes in the original crate for les or about $1000 to 1500 a piece if you have the collectors firearm licence and about the same prices for the same weapons but deactivated.

Wow so if one has a collector's permit one can own a fully functional MP40 in Belgium!!!? Very nice! Here you can only own weapons older than 100 years on a collector's permit.

you are right Bill, the same is applicable in the field of litterature : what you wrote in the USA was a dud , but it really exploded here and it won't be long until you'll get incoming mail on your side.

            Pierre,

Well if it isn't the old story teller and bilker of named items from WW2 Veterans who masqueraded as an official VFW member to obtain items from the locals in your neighboring village of Bastogne and various visiting Veterans who then wrote into the newspaper in Bastogne complaining about you. The last I heard is someone (one of your fellow countrymen) turned you into the Belgian Government for various nasty deeds, making a profit on Ebay whilst collecting disability from the Government and not paying taxes on those goods sold, etc. etc. I should think any punishment that the Government gave you was well deserved. As for the things I wrote about you they are all true and you know it. So I take it you are threatening me once again and now on this forum. Keep doing it and you will not last very long on WAF. My "Invisible friends" as you have called them in the past are still watching you and filling me in on your latest escapades.
