    MG42 recognise this part?

Hi All, this part marked with a Yugo K is more or less above the trigger part, but can you tell me what part it is and where in the Next MG42 photo it is?
Also is it easy to find and to replace?

    thanks all

    Daniele

I´d say its 1a - the dust-hatch on the bottom - or the small unnamed part to its right, to fix the MG on tripod. Depends on the position of the bolt in your foto.

Its not 1a, 1a is further to the front. i can't see the item on the list. i know it can be removed from the receiver but dont know the name.

It's the back end of the recuperator assembly, not shown in the diagram.

                One last question guys:

Is this a Yugo made recuperator or could it be german reused and restamped by the Yugo army?

Yes, it's like the one in this parts drawing but it's post war one with the extension on the back end.

Once the gun is totally dissassambled it's removed by removing the the two nuts, one on the side of the receiver and the other on the bottom. Just be careful once it's removed the plunger and spring are only held in by the threaded stud and can go flying out.

Hard to say for sure but I would think that it's a Yugo made one.

                        thanks again,

And to end my worries, are these 2 German WW2 made or postwar made with postwar stamps?

                        Thanks again
