    Yes, this is it. It's the recuperator and it appears to be Yugo, not a German one remarked. They are not difficult to remove and replace if you find a wartime unit.

        Both of these MAY be German. I can't say for sure. I have never seen a marking like that on the barrel bearing. The muzzle booster may be German or possibly early Yugo. Most Yugo M53 parts have a long part number stamped on them, of a sort never used by the Germans.

        Unfortunately with the '42, by this stage of the war they were not serializing/waffenamting every pin spring and screw, like earlier....so it's not at all unusual to find unmarked wartime parts.

        Wish I had a clearer answer for you.....
