I have seen an article in the newspaper years ago that the tank has been moved since this picture was taken and put in the middle of the village. The picture is from 1981 / 83. I can’t remember the name of the village but I think you will fiend this back in the books on the battle of the bulge from “After the Battle”
The boxes in the sand where just before Dunkirk in Zuytcoote or Bredune. The year was also probably end 70’s early 80’s. In the same dunes there was also lots of the original barb wire and poles left and I found many British, French and Belgian personal items such as ID tags, buttons, badges, money, small Jewellery / religious medals and Enfield rifles with no bolds.
Those beaches where packed with the retreating allied army’s in June 1940.
