    1944 DOU 100% numbers matching all original warhorse!

    Just picked this up at the gun show.
    I love it! I feel the sling was pre-45 repaired but who knows for sure? It's at least original.

    Came out of a longtime collection.
    Merry Christmas to me!

      My wife picked up a pretty nicely preserved eagle L marked police HSC pistol.... For a song.

      Today was a good gun show. Around here it seems most are looking for new guns or shooters, not collector pieces.

            Lovely rifle! !!!
            The only drawback being that the cleaning rod is not from that very rifle but from an earlier one.

              Ha. I'm surprised it has a cleaning rod at all. I'm not worried as I think they used whatever they could get. I doubt the soldier would have said "I best not go into battle with the wrong cleaning rod!!"

              I will take pics of the HSC either tonight or tomorrow. We have our last family Christmas gathering today. I would say the pistol is about 95% finish.

                As it took like three cleaning rods connected together to swab a barrel, the soldiers would do it en masse.....After this was done, really took very little concern as to which rifle had which cleaning rod.....It was war after all....Bodes

                          Would there or is there markings on the stock? I don't see any but it doesn't look like it was sanded ever, either.

                          Or were all markings on the 1944 DOU rifles on the interior of the stock?

                          Thanks for the comments guys. I was surprised that this guy had an all matcher as he usually has lots of mixmasters or RC/imports. Glad I took a closer look! What I noticed first was the original sling.
