      The selector must have been set in full-auto position if the charger stayed to the rear (without a mag inserted), after cocking, will need to have the trigger pulled to release bolt.
      However if the safety is on (left side) and it's fixed in against the wall, you're stuck until someone takes it down.

      Full auto - open bolt operation.
      Semi-auto - closed bolt operation.

          Don't panic guys I left it just as I found it pulled the trigger and the bolt shot forward closed. No harm done it was nice to get hands on with such a piece of history. A lot of items in the museum are out on display to handle like this. A great way to educate kids about history.

            Where is this museum....Next time I come up to UK I will visit it if the FG42 handling is included
