WWII M1 Garand

I bought this from an old man who had it for years. I don't know much about them. I cant find any markings on the stock but it does look like an old one. I looked up the receiver serial number and it dates it to 1943. I don't know if this is re-worked or what? It does look like its in excellent shape. I'm hoping somebody here can tell me a bit more about it and approx. value. I took lots of pics so people can see what I have here.
