    It's not a tragedy. The parts are available, and not terribly expensive. Walther PP series guns have something of a history of blowing out the extractor and the other parts then fall out.
    Numrich gun parts has the ppk parts you need. No gunsmith should be necessary to reinstall the correct parts.

        With a wood pencil nearby and the magazine removed, gently pull the trigger guard down away from the frame. Insert the wood pencil at the inside angle of the trigger guard at the front. This keeps the guard down and allows you to pull the slide back all the way and raise it up at the rear and off of the frame. Turn it over and you can see what all you are missing. Take a picture of it. It appears your lock-work is okay if the hammer is falling. You should be able to replace the missing parts in the slide, an educational process.

          That serial number range should be for 1940 production.
