MG42 lafette original?

Hello,

I find this lafette fur MG42 on eBay.co.uk and it doesn't look ok to me?? Is it original, the stampings looks very strange??

Yes, I'd say it's an ex Yugo. The black shade of the alu optic block and the other (can't remember what it's called) the recoil spring container... gives it away. Other things also.

It may be ex-Yugo, but it looks like ex-Third Reich before that!

I have an original that was owned by the Yugoslavs but is original and covered in Waffenamts etc (although missing the range table). It has canvas pads also.

This one may have been repainted in Dunkelgelb and had a repro range table added that's all.
