    Right Gary : this one was taken on a dead KM officer in Cannes in august '44 ; along with some other stuff BTW, but unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it too...
    But I don't want to monopolize your space here, I'll post the other pics in my former thread.

        OK Gary, thanks. I'll post only one more : the loading indicator that is - usually - absent on M.34s. Well, nobody here reported one of his M.34s with it yet...

        BTW, I'd like to see the markings on your gun in post #6, the one with the lanyard (interesting particularity) ; could you post a good close-up when you get the chance ?

          Hey Chris Great Pic! I have not got the loaded chamber indicator on any of my flare pistols. Here are the best I could do for now. I still havn't found the cabling for my scanner.

          Gary

              Hi Folks!
              I am working on research about Julius Posselt factory (code gfc, or Dahlem code 1W). This factory produced a lot of "Bakelite" products during WW II like P.38 grips, Neck microphone body, Iigniter cases etc.

              In factory papers I found mentioned "Flare pistol grips, old model" marked 24.d.B -2105-1 and 24.d.B -2105-2. Poselt factory produced some 500,000 flare pistol grips.

              24.d - 2105 is "Gerätnummer" of Heeresmodel flare pistol. Now I am looking for grips inside markings. Please let me know about marking on your Grips.

              Thanks, Jan

                Hi Jan,

                My 42 dated grips are marked 909
                7r within a circle.

                The 38 dated grips are marked Cewe within the circle. Also Waa 359 I think(it should be). It is very faint.

                Gary

                  Hi Jan!

                  FYI: The grips you are refering to is slimer than the ordinary LP Walther grips.
                  They are found on pre-war produced steel LP`s from Walther.

                  Regards

                  Carl

                    Well, I hope you won't mind if I try to make things a bit clearer here...

                    Three main variations of this Leuchtpistole were made :
                    - The Heer M.26 : blued steel with walnut grips (1926 -> 1934).
                    - The Heer M.34 : blued duralumin, bakelite grips (1934 -> 1943).
                    - The Heer "war" model : blued duralumin, narrow hammer and slimmer bakelite grips, loaded indicator (1940 -> end).

                    Let's forget the M.26 for the moment. Here's a view of 2 of the main characteristics of the "war" Heer Leuchtpistole ; compare the hammer with the one in post #18 ; the loaded indicator is a new feature on this model ; keep in mind that the loaded indicator on mine above is an exception (which confirms the rule ).

                      The 2 other main differences between the classical M.34 (left) and the "war" model (right). Sorry, I was a bit too lazy to take this photo myself...

                      Notice the differences on the grips and on the part retaining the strap ring to the handle.

                        Gary showed us :

                        - A typical Heer M.34 made by Walther in 1938.

                        - A Heer M.34 made (if my eyes are good) by Erma in 1942 (code ayf). What's interesting here is that this one shows the narrow hammer usually found on the "war" model ; but you said is has no loading indicator, Gary ???

                        I can't 100 % make out of which kind are the grips (M.34 or slim "war" model), I guess they are of the vaulted M.34 type (am I right, Gary ?) ; anyway, the lanyard part on the handle is typical of the M.34s.
                        Thus so far, another nice non- " "textbook" " item...
