Oh brother, my brother!!!!! I hope you are right. I haven't had the top cover off yet, but everything else that I have found is a match! The only damage is the ground up stock where the WaA was!
                Merry Christmas!

                  Hi Tim,
Merry Christmas! Sorry it so long to reply, with 5 weekend shows in a row and the holidays it's been REAL busy here.

I am mostly into WWI Mausers now but from what I can see your rifle looks to be near perfect. The condition of the wood matches the metal and it looks correct.

It's beautiful congratulations on a great find.

Tim - based on the pics I am also not convinced that the metal has been completely re-blued or that the stock has been refinished. Stock edges look flat and square and I don't necessarily interpret gouges as meant to deface. But interpretation can only be as good as the picture detail allows. Will be curious to hear what is found when the stock set is removed.

Tim - also the P35 looks great as does the HP holster. Would be curious to see more detail about what is written in ink on interior of the flap.

I was told that linseed oil was applied to the stock. This is all academic at best, as I will see you at Glendale Heights om the 5th of January and I will have everything with me so as to make a clear determination.
                            Thanx,
                            Tim

Tim i can tell you from the pics posted that the finish on the stock is not original. Or if it is the stock has had a harsh chemical (oven cleaner or the like) on it and possibly linseed oil added. In any case the stock is not unmolested.

Tim - I look forward to seeing it at Glendale. Nothing comes close to hands on/eyes on inspection. I see no benefit in rushing to judgment.
