I dont believe mine is brass, the finish is the same as on a early untouched SA/SS
dagger crossguard in nickel that always has a little yellow tone in it.
This is a pic of my SS dagger nickel scabbard that has a vertical hanger in leather that also caused heavy vertigris on the upper scabbard fitting.
