How about some links to those all matching high condition rigs for $2500. Force matched don't count.

Fair price and the piece looks nice to me.
Edit- Luger prices? interesting. reblue? possibly....looked like a nice gun at first glance.

Also I'll say that if this one is a re-blue, I would like to know who did it (and backed off the honest wear on the high points) so that I could send all of my guns to him.

Here are a few. I have purchased from this guy a few times and he sells good stuff.

Hard to tell from the pictures if the finish is original to the gun...it appears glossy. The GESICHERT stamp should be white, and the signs of plumb colors poking through the rear of the gun are OK.
Still don't have any links to the $2500 matching rigs, or $1300/$1800 matching mag in the condition of the OP's pistol.

Looks like it's a lesson for all of us on Luger prices. $2500 for a top example with matching magazine is pretty on par based on these websites.

                        Yes

I'll stand by my original post.
                        Awesome gun.
I know there are some re finishers out that that can almost duplicate any finish. but that Luger just screams "I'm original" IMHO.
There used to be a teacher here in the DFW area who could rust blue early Lugers that fooled even the most advanced collector. His name was Gene ???
That was in the 70's He never misrepresented his work. He just enjoyed the work.
You cant replicate the bore very easily.
I hope you end up with that gun. I don't think you'll ever have to defend it.
                        Just my opinion.
Opinions are like noses (and other body parts) everyone has one.
Forgive my rambling but I love to see new younger collectors get excited over fine firearms.

Here's one. Without a single bid, which leads me to believe that the price is still high!

I'm not arguing with you, but just showing they are out there! When I was in the market for my first Luger, I signed up over at the lugerforum and learned alot....including you can find matching rigs for considerably less. It just takes patience and buying from the right person/dealer.
