I would not replace it. It is 99.9% likely/sure that this safety flag was on this rifle during the war. It is no doubt from the same unit as the rifle and was either switched during a squad cleaning or replaced due to breakage from a handling strike type of mishap (pretty common with these, although this rifle does not show hard use). Sometime parts were re-numbered and sometimes they were not...depending on when and who and at what level they were replaced.
